drawings 2021 - week 2 and 3

 I stuck with several more 'crutches' done on the phone, but some others as well. And definitely planning to get unstuck from drawing on photos. 

 

I really liked your idea of drawing freely something I had done as a crutch, in fact, I had thought about that myself, just never really get around to doing it.

Do you have a set time when you do your calligraphy? Like, every morning right after breakfast or so? I think it is not enough of a routine yet, I squeeze it in at some point when I think about it. But then, every day is a bit different in schedule, too, so it would be difficult to set a constant time. 

Note to myself: upload much closer to actual time of drawing, then it won't be a mounting task.

There must be a few more pictures, wonder where they went, which folder... I will search.

drawings 2021 - week 1

 Happy New Year, Kathy. I am excited to be doing this, and grateful that you are willing to give your thoughts.

I have decided to label them by date (German version: day-month-year-x) and then the number of drawing executed that day. I think I need to do more than one per day, although I am not certain how many there will be every day, and I am not setting me a rule for that. But the label will only be on the drawing itself, too much typing because I will save them under that label on the computer, and it would be so repetitive...

For the first day, as I wrote, I chose the bird feeder in our yard, and you received the photo from the step to the verandah where I was sitting as I was drawing during a bout of sunshine on that day.

For the next two days I used the crutch of my phone/gallery alteration possibilities by 'drawing' over photos after dimming contrast and saturation, and then dimming the background out completely. I know that is cheating a bit, and it is not supposed to become a standard. But I do think it is a means of exercising detecting lines or important parts, so I think I will revert back to it every once in a while, and the phone is always with me, whereas for the cards I first have to find the box again that I used to have...
